Boom
I watched World War Z with Crystal, on Netflix, and we were both kind of taken aback at how poorly handled roughly every situation in that movie was. People not watching their steps and kicking cans when it's been stressed like crazy how important it is to be quiet. Riding the rustiest bicycles around for your sneaky refueling mission. Throwing a singing and dancing party with amplifiers and shit right next to the wall. Using small arms fire for enormous unarmed charging armies (machine guns have been mowing down armies since something like the turn of the last century). Brad Pitt only wrapping one arm every time.
Being really disappointed at the movie was followed by reading the plot of the book on Wikipedia, which was followed by trying to think of how poorly zombies would actually do against modern weapons. I'm pretty sure I could use face detection built into my phone's camera to pick targets on a gun drone, and jerry-rig a headshotting node copter in about a weekend.
I find that idea terrifying, by the way.
